Some suggestions:

  • Link to relevant content — news articles, technical papers, items that allow the reader to find out more about the technology, social concepts and impact you discuss
  • Encourage reader feedback — controversial issues that solicit additional perspectives are a key aspect of a healthy discussion
  • Be professional – we will be acknowledging your entry and your name in our publicity channels — the Internet is “forever” – and current/future employers (and others) may view your postings in the future. (This is true of all parts of the Internet! — a social implication of this technology)
  • Different cultures view different issues in different ways… one value SSIT brings is a diverse set of perspectives (national, technical, etc.) — help readers understand your perspectives — it can be one of your greatest contributions
