William A. Herbert is a Distinguished Lecturer at Hunter College, the City University of New York, with a scholarly interest in the intersection of new technologies and labor law.

Mr William A. Herbert is a labor and employment attorney with a scholarly interest in the intersection of new technologies and labor law. His published scholarship includes articles on social media, human tracking technologies, e-mail and internet use in the workplace, genetic testing, electronic workplace privacy protections in the European Union, public sector labor law and history, the application of the United States Constitution to public sector labor law issues, and statutory discrimination and retaliation protections. His most recent article, Can’t Escape from the Memory: Social Media and Public Sector Labor Law, was published by Northern Kentucky Law Review.

Mr. Herbert is a former Co-Chair of the American Bar Association Labor and Employment Section’s Technology in the Practice and Workplace Committee and a current Co-Chair of the New York State Bar Association Labor and Employment Section’s Technology in the Workplace and Practice Committee. He graduated from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law, Yeshiva University and the University at Buffalo.
